Carter Faith returns with “Bar Star,” a feel-good country single that serves as a preview to her debut album Cherry Valley, arriving October 3 via MCA. The song’s release is paired with a bonus worktape, “Billy Bob Thornton.”
Rooted in humor and affection, “Bar Star” offers a vivid portrait of a bar regular who wins hearts despite his flaws. “In simple terms, he’s the star of the bar—for better or for worse—but damnit, she loves him,” Carter notes.
Meanwhile, “Billy Bob Thornton (Worktape)” adds a lighthearted personal touch. “I wrote this song about Billy Bob Thornton because I literally love him… I just had to write about it,” Carter explains.
The full album, Cherry Valley, draws on Carter’s Nashville experiences and her personal evolution. With a title inspired by a passing road sign, the album explores the intersection of old-school influence and present-day authenticity.
