Leigh-Anne returns to the spotlight with her latest single “Been A Minute,” signaling a creative evolution built on rhythm, heritage, and personal reflection. Released via Virgin Music Group, the track marks a renewed artistic presence.

Sampling Masters at Work’s “Work,” the track nods to a classic while forging something new. It’s co-written by Leigh-Anne and produced by Elijah “GYW Eli” Ross and Lasse Qvist, combining fluid vocals with a dancehall foundation that pays homage to her roots.

The music video, directed by Femi Lade, elevates the release into a visual experience. A carnival-inspired fantasy unfolds until Leigh-Anne is replaced by a mysterious figure in red, hinting at themes of identity and reclaiming space.

Reflecting on the inspiration, Leigh-Anne said:

“There’s something powerful about sampling a song that shaped me growing up… ‘Been a Minute’ is fun, nostalgic, and the first taste of this new era…”

Her previous EP, ‘No Hard Feelings’, was a well-received exploration of R&B with cultural depth, and her sold-out UK & Ireland tour affirmed her strength as a solo artist.

“Been A Minute” kicks off her summer festival run, including appearances at Reading and Leeds, Manchester Pride, and Mighty Hoopla Malta.
