 iyla drops emotionally rich “Corset” video, ahead of her full-length debut Weeping Angel on August 8.

iyla continues to craft her boldest era yet with the release of “Corset,” a new single accompanied by a powerful music video. The track serves as a lead-in to her full-length debut album Weeping Angel, set for release August 8.

The music video, creatively directed by iyla herself and directed by Justin Moser, visualizes the themes embedded in the Weeping Angel album cover—elevated by haunting makeup and styling from Sasha Glasser, Raylene Guzmán, and Carlos Aviles.

“Corset,” produced by Kadis, addresses themes of intimacy, discomfort, and personal clarity through layered metaphors and a sonically rich soundscape. The song threads a tight emotional needle, exploring where connection meets dissonance.

Following the life-altering loss of her mother, iyla found creative purpose through pain. The 13-track album that followed is, in her words, her most confident and personal work to date.

“I always made music from my soul… The fact I made this record in the most challenging time of my life is a pearl I’m so proud of,” she reflects.
