Jordan Firstman Unveils “Secrets”, A Star-Studded, Story-Driven Debut on Capitol Records

Jordan Firstman has stepped into the spotlight with Secrets, his debut album out now via Capitol Records. Known for his comedic brilliance and sharp social commentary, Firstman blends satire and sincerity in a concept record driven by fan-submitted confessions and unpredictable storytelling.

Collaborators on Secrets include Julia Fox, Rufus Wainwright, Rachel Sennott, Suki Waterhouse, LAUNDRY DAY, Jimmy Pop of Bloodhound Gang, and Firstman’s own mother. The album’s 2020 origins stem from Firstman’s popular Instagram series where he invited followers to send in their secrets—anonymous, raw, and often outrageous. These confessions became the basis for tracks that explore humor, heartbreak, and human behavior.

The video for “I’m quitting my job tomorri” illustrates this emotional range. Layering garage beats with airy vocals and direct verses, the track evokes the stylings of Pink Pantheress and Central Cee. Its visuals echo the tension of a relationship at a turning point—just one example of the album’s emotional complexity.

Musically expansive, Secrets moves from jazz and country to post-punk and EDM. Firstman collaborated with Brad Oberhofer, Blake Slatkin, Zach Dawes, and Sega Bodega, creating songs tailored to the emotion and theme of each submitted title.
