After the massive success of Can’t Steal My Joy featuring Brandon Lake—amassing over 12.5 million streams—Josiah Queen is back with Yesterday Is Dead, a triumphant song about freedom, renewal, and faith. Out now via Capitol Records/Capitol Christian Music Group (CCMG), the track blends Queen’s acoustic-based, Americana-leaning sound with an uplifting message of transformation.

Written with John Michael Howell, who also produced the song, Yesterday Is Dead carries a powerful declaration: “I keep my eyes / On what lies ahead / Today is a new day / Yesterday is dead.”

“‘Yesterday Is Dead feels like a weight being lifted off my back,’” Queen shares. “‘This song is about the freedom and new life I have found in Jesus. It’s about letting go of regrets and embracing the future with hope.’”

The track’s teasers have already generated over three million views, and excitement continues to grow as Queen prepares to perform Yesterday Is Dead on Fox & Friends Weekend for its 2025 Faith & Friends Concert Series on Easter Sunday (April 20).

Fresh off his U.K. and European tour, Queen is gearing up for the U.S. leg of his 2025 global headline tour, beginning March 26 in Cincinnati. His 2024 tour sold out across 40+ cities, proving his rapid rise as one of the most exciting voices in faith-driven music.

Stream Yesterday Is Dead now on all digital platforms.
