EthanUno’s necesidad EP Fuses Hyperpop & Latin Influences

EthanUno drops necesidad, a unique mix of bilingual lyricism, glitchy beats, and hyperpop energy, out now via Friends Keep Secrets/Interscope.

EthanUno is making waves with the release of necesidad, his debut solo EP via Friends Keep Secrets/Interscope. Known for his genre-blurring style, EthanUno seamlessly blends hyperpop, Latin melodies, and glitchy electronic beats, resulting in a vibrant and emotionally charged project.

The EP features the previously unheard track “las mañanas”, a song that exemplifies EthanUno’s ability to balance vulnerability and energy. With pitched-up vocals, lo-bit synth, and digital blips, the track explores heartbreak and self-reflection, as he sings: “Wish that I could tell you, all the hell I went through / Just for you to mess it up, and say you never meant to.”

Self-produced in his home studio, necesidad is a fully realized vision from EthanUno. From the driving house beats of “DQTC” to the syncopated IDM influences of “someone like u”, the EP showcases his range as an artist, songwriter, and producer.

Reflecting on the project, EthanUno shares:

“Signing to a major label has been one of the biggest growing up moments in my life. This moment has made me realize that everything we do in life is out of necessity. I’ve realized you can be f—ing with someone else’s life through your own fight for what you believe in — that’s the nature of necessity.”

With critical acclaim from Frank Ocean and Rosalía, and past singles “pecador” and “quemar” gaining momentum, EthanUno’s rise in the global music scene is only beginning.
