The profile intersects two distinct arcs. KI/KI, an Amsterdam force who moves between acid techno and trance and from the queer underground to international festival stages, joins Marlon Hoffstadt, also known as DJ Daddy Trance, on their first ever collaboration. The single ‘Losing Control’ arrives today on Capitol Records with MC3, after being announced at Belgium’s Dour Festival last month.

This pairing aims squarely at the feeling that binds their audiences. Written and produced together, ‘Losing Control’ is rooted in the joy of abandoning yourself to the music completely. The title becomes a thesis on the floor, aligning with the high intensity energy both artists bring to long form sets.

“I remember playing Marlon’s tunes in my sets before we met and me thinking ‘who is this guy?’” recalls KI/KI. “His tracks just hit differently. After we met for the first time, I pictured us making a track together where our sounds would merge – powerful, crazy but still emotional. Our first studio session followed soon after and everything fell into place. I’m incredibly thankful to share such an epic journey together and, most importantly, SO READY TO LOSE CONTROL.”

Marlon Hoffstadt added, “Even before I knew KI/KI, I wanted to make music with her. She has always been an inspiration to me and I knew it would slap if we got in the studio together. Seeing ‘Losing Control’ unfold makes me so happy. It’s the best of both our worlds: raw, fast, emotional. And crowds just lose it every single time.

The collaboration quickly translates to a marquee moment. On Sunday, August 10, they will perform their first B2B at Zeebrugge Beach on the North Sea in Belgium. The set will run five hours for a 20,000 strong crowd, and tickets sold out within minutes. See below for artist itineraries.

KI/KI’s recent milestones include selling out 20,000 capacity shows, serving as a Spotify Global Equal Ambassador, appearing on the DJ Mag cover during Amsterdam Dance Event, and becoming the first woman to win the Dutch Edisons Pop Award. Her ‘5 HOURS NYC’ sold out in 30 seconds, while a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and a headline b2b with Job Jobse at Lowlands underscore a presence across underground and main stages.
