‘GOD IS A DJ’ unites a fierce club cut with a church floor visual, CRAY leads the vocal, the theme is shown and heard.

A single image captures the new chapter, a church becomes a dancefloor. ‘GOD IS A DJ’ from Dani Thorne and CRUNCHi arrives with CRAY on the mic, and the sound embraces industrial Techno intensity. The rhythm pushes with pounding kicks, production choices keep an underground grit in the air, and the vocal holds a steady, hypnotic line. A witty, sultry mood and a hardstyle infused lift fuel the chorus. The story celebrates the father, son and Holy Rave and intentionally blends sacred with profane, so the listener stands in a dark, sweaty room where the DJ is upheld as divine, and feminine. In the video, three girls find their way to an underground rave inside a run down church.

Dani Thorne shares; “When Cray came up with the line “God is a DJ”, we knew right away that’s the theme we were going to run with. While the instrumental had been done and played out by Crunchi and I months before, when the writing session started with Cray, a whole new theme was born and we knew we wanted to revisit the production to hone in on this idea of GOD IS A DJ. Which to be honest, is very in line with how it feels to be in the dark, sweaty underground with 100s of like-minded strangers, dancing and expressing ourselves freely. The rave is our version of church, and we connect through music.”

Background notes in the release map the progression from an early sketch to a rebuilt version centered on CRAY’s vocal, and place the finished song in sets that move from underground warehouses to festival stages. The cohesion is the point, a theme that links the track’s power to the image that defines the video.

It’s clear that “GOD IS A DJ” is both a banger and a mantra.
