With their new track “Panic Buttons,” UK electronic trio Joe Average turn nostalgia into momentum. Released July 8, 2025, the single is their first official offering since the early ’90s—and it arrives with intention and timing shaped by fate.

Joe Average—Rich, Mad Mick, and Prof—were once the faces of underground rave as Joshua Cry’s Wolf, known for tracks like “Infinity (Time for the Guru)”. After decades apart, they’ve come together through what can only be described as a series of cosmic coincidences.

It was like the universe was telling us to finish what we started,” says Rich, after reuniting with Mick on the anniversary of their final gig. Tracking down Prof completed the trio, with their reconnection sealed in surreal fashion—he was wearing his original rave shirt.

The resulting track, “Panic Buttons,” is as emotional as it is energetic. Produced by Rich and featuring a fiery vocal from Faber, the song merges live drums, saxophone, and melodic keys into a rave revival that feels both fresh and reverent.
