Ally Evenson isn’t interested in the ordinary. With “The Line,” her new single via Assemble Sound/Atlantic Records, she transforms an offhand idea into a fully realized moment of chaotic beauty.
“The Line” is an unusual blend of country and drum & bass, co-produced with nydge. Born from a joke, it took on new life as a serious exploration of the irrational thoughts we all face. “After the song was made, we realized it was actually extremely rad…” says Evenson.
The body horror-themed video pushes the envelope even further. “The video, however, is almost a prequel to my debut album, BLUE SUPER LOVE…” she notes, emphasizing its thematic connection to her visual world and personal evolution.
Raised in Michigan, Evenson brings bold vulnerability to each project. From early releases like Not So Pretty to her critical acclaim with In My Dreams, You Laugh at Me, her work continues to resonate with those who seek music that isn’t afraid to get messy.
