British singer-songwriter Grace Davies has never been one to follow convention. Her new album The Wrong Side of 25 confirms that — delivering powerful storytelling and lush pop production rooted in self-reflection and truth.

She kicks off the album with “Welcome to the Wrong Side,” a theatrical intro that leads into the emotionally naked “Youngest That I’ll Ever Be.” With lines like “I tell myself I’m out of time…” she speaks to a growing audience feeling the pressure of timelines they never set.

The album dances between extremes — sadness, sarcasm, passion, and liberation. “Hotel Delilah” serves as the standout banger, brimming with clever lines and disco flair. Produced with Paul Whalley, it’s the pop fantasy listeners didn’t know they needed.

But it’s not just about sound — it’s about survival. At 28, Davies confronts the idea of being “past it” in an industry obsessed with youth. And in doing so, she gives voice to countless others who feel the same.
