FLO, the UK trio redefining the R&B landscape, has unveiled their newest single “The Mood”, produced by genre-blending visionary Kaytranada. Released via Island Records, the song blends sensuality with strength, carried by sultry vocals and an effortlessly smooth beat.
Reflecting on the track, FLO states: “The Mood is a fun and fresh take on sex. Sometimes you’re not in the mood! We made this song two years ago and it still feels brand new to us. We are so honoured to have been able to work with Kaytranada and so happy that the world can enjoy it with us!!! #permissionissexy”
Their collaboration captures a moment of intimacy through a stylish, rhythmic lens — a sonic nod to freedom and individuality. It’s an evolution from their earlier work but still rooted in their signature harmonies and lyrical clarity.
This follows a landmark year for FLO. Their debut Access All Areas became the highest-charting British R&B girl group album in 23 years, reaching Top 3 in the UK and charting on the Billboard 200. With over 605 million global streams, their rise has been matched by critical recognition, including high praise from Pitchfork, Dazed, and NME.
Looking ahead, FLO will headline Somerset House’s Summer Series next week before launching the UK leg of their Access All Areas Tour, beginning September 28. Cities include London, Glasgow, Manchester, and Birmingham, followed by a European stretch.
With “The Mood,” FLO affirms not only their musical versatility but also their commitment to artistic honesty, individuality, and growth — all while keeping the rhythm alive.
