British Punjabi genre-shifter Raf-Saperra introduces a bold new phase of his career with the release of “Step Out,” his vibrant new single produced by Ikky and released through Polydor Records and Universal Music Canada.

Marking his entry into a more mainstream pop space, “Step Out” maintains Raf’s cultural foundation while pushing into high-energy, melodic territory. “First time stepping into the pop lane… and who better to do it with than the hitmaker himself, Ikky,” Raf says. “‘Step Out’ is a full-blown earworm – catchy, bold, and backed by a visual straight out of a cartoon-meets-cinema dream.”

Raf and Ikky’s latest collaboration builds on the chemistry established with “Heer” earlier this year. The song draws on elements of dub, dancehall, and Punjabi folk—reflecting the duo’s transatlantic connection between London and Toronto.

Directed by Bedroom Projects and Avleen Kaur, the video matches the track’s bold sound with striking visuals and inventive flair. Raf transforms with confidence, reflecting the thematic heart of the single: stepping out into the unknown with purpose.

Raf-Saperra has long been an underground fixture, praised for bending genres with Ruff Around The Edges and 5 Deadly Venomz. With “Step Out,” he’s taking his sound global—without losing sight of where he came from.
