Indie rock duo Nat & Alex Wolff open 2025 with a deeply personal new single, “If You Never Left Me,” released via Coup D’Etat Recordings and Broke Records. Equal parts emotional and ironic, the song highlights the brothers’ skill at weaving introspection into indie-driven storytelling.

“We wrote the original version in the house of the person it was about,” the brothers said. “It took years to revisit—but on a plane ride back from Europe, Alex rewrote the lyrics with a new mindset. He didn’t want it to be a pity party. He made it honest and self-aware.”

The result is a breakup song that balances creative vulnerability with subtle humor, delivered through the pair’s unmistakable rock-tinged, alt-pop sound.

The release follows last month’s unveiling of “Soft Kissing Hour” and its accompanying video directed by Gia Coppola, premiered at a private fan event in Los Angeles.

With a Billboard-charting career, years of collaboration under their belts, and an evolving sound palette that blends vintage rock and contemporary alt, Nat & Alex Wolff are primed for a major year. 2024 saw them support Billie Eilish on her sold-out U.S. arena tour, and 2025 is shaping up to be just as impactful.

“If You Never Left Me” is the first of more new music planned for release later this year, as the brothers continue carving out their own space in the indie rock scene.
