LA-based artist Baby Jane makes a jaw-dropping entrance with A Grave Marked Strange, a daring debut album that fuses gothic intensity with electronic freedom. Released alongside the hard-hitting, early 2000s-inspired “End of the Night,” the project positions Baby Jane as a genre-defying visionary.
At the crossroads of witch house, hardstyle, and techno, A Grave Marked Strange is as much a cinematic character study as it is an album. Baby Jane embodies the title’s protagonist—a macabre dreamer torn between fantasy and reality. “She is hopeless in nature, but still holding out for life to give her a reason not to cross over,” she explains.
The 16-track album was co-produced with War Tourism and includes a verse from Damazein and a haunting guitar solo by Matthew Michna on “Sistine.” But the real centerpiece is “End of the Night”—already making waves on TikTok. It’s a hard bounce, Eurodance throwback inspired by Jane’s childhood memories of riding in cars with her mother listening to Russia’s “Evropa Plus.”
“‘End of the Night’ is about the inner conflict between good and evil,” Baby Jane shares. “It’s the dance between temptation and forgiveness.”
With nearly a million Spotify listeners and a passionate online following called The Coven, Baby Jane is quickly becoming a key figure in experimental electronic. A Grave Marked Strange is her unapologetic mission statement—a theatrical and fearless debut that redefines what electronic music can be.
