Shaya Zamora’s “Numb” lands as his first solo offering of the year—and it’s a moving one. Released through Atlantic Records, the single offers a subdued but powerful reflection on the emotional defenses we build in the face of intimacy.

“There’s something terrifying about giving the real you to someone,” Zamora confesses. “Some run from love, too afraid to let it in, cause we don’t want to feel. Others stand in its presence – numb.”

That lyricism is matched by production from Mxwell and Croixx, who give the song space to breathe. The emotional undercurrent flows through soft instrumentals, maintaining a steady pulse while allowing Zamora’s vocals to lead.

After earning praise for collaborations like “Monster” and the trio-led “Lament,” Zamora’s new solo work signals a deepening of his craft. His breakout EP Eulogize continues to draw streams globally, with “Cigarette” leading the charge.

“Numb” is a song about standing still—but its emotional impact moves listeners in unexpected ways.
