Robin Cisek’s latest release, Tempered, is more than an album — it’s a manifesto. With full control over writing and production, the Métis pop artist delivers seven tracks that balance vulnerability with grit.
“With this project, I wanted to challenge myself to produce my own sounds and the process has been incredibly rewarding,” says Cisek.
Songs like “Play Dirty” and “Leave Me in the Cold” reflect her refined production skills and fearless lyrical direction. Her metaphor of tempered glass illustrates the complexity of strength: “Too much pressure and it doesn’t just break, it explodes.”
The album builds upon the themes of healing explored in Delicate Minds, now channeled through a more daring, alt-pop sound. Cisek’s confidence as a producer brings freshness to her compositions, rich with unexpected melodies.
She’s preparing lyric videos and will celebrate the album on May 30th in Edmonton. With Tempered, Robin Cisek asserts full creative autonomy — and shines in doing so.
