KARABA caps off the rollout for her highly anticipated EP Tides with “Surfacing,” a track that offers clarity, calm, and emotional resolution. Released via ONErpm, the single is the third from the project, following “Siren” and “Dark Waters.”
A master of emotional storytelling through sound, KARABA fuses oceanic textures, Afro house percussion, and spiritual vocal layering in a track that explores the concept of emergence.
“‘Surfacing’ is the final single of my EP, where everything comes together,” says KARABA. “After the tension and high energy of the journey, it feels like a moment of rebirth and arrival—floating above the water, chanting, and embracing the calm after the storm.”
Born in France and raised in Quebec, KARABA draws on a global tapestry of influence, combining her Congolese heritage with international experiences in both dance and sound. She transitioned from dancing onstage with Drake and Selena Gomez to producing the music she once moved to.
With a 2024 Juno nomination and a Spotify Fresh Finds Canada cover, KARABA is on the cusp of a major breakthrough. She’ll perform at Lightning in a Bottle and AFRODOM Festival as momentum builds toward the June 13 release of Tides.
“Surfacing” is streaming now across all major platforms.
