Singer and songwriter Braden Bales releases “YOU LIED,” a stirring single that delivers emotional weight and lyrical vulnerability. Out now via Capitol Records, the track previews the tone of his upcoming summer EP 5 STAGES OF GRIEF, a body of work built on personal reflection and emotional progression.

“YOU LIED” opens a window into the depression stage of heartbreak, narrating the internal battle between remembering what once was and accepting its painful unraveling. It’s a song that feels deeply lived-in, emotionally textured, and relatable for anyone who’s experienced loss in love.

“I wrote YOU LIED when I heard my ex’s music that painted our relationship in a bad light,” Bales explains. “We had a really bittersweet ending and it broke me to hear her talk negatively about everything we had and what being with me was like. ‘YOU LIED’ represents the depression stage of grief in my breakup and it’s written about the most painful part of this process.”

The new single arrives as Bales joins Livingston on his North American The Story Continues tour, which includes major cities like Los Angeles, Atlanta, and New York.
