Alt-pop artist LALA HAYDEN has unveiled her new EP viva venus in full, closing the four-track body of work with the vulnerable and euphoric single “beast.” Created with acclaimed producer Ben Christophers (Bat For Lashes, Françoise Hardy), the project is a sonic and lyrical exploration of love, empowerment, and self-awareness in a fast-moving digital world.

“‘beast’ felt like a moment where all my guards are down,” LALA reveals. “It’s about the disconnection I’ve felt, and how social media doesn’t always leave room for our full selves to be seen. This track was me finally letting that guard down.”

Balancing themes of emotional rawness and empowerment, LALA navigates modern womanhood with a sharp pen and an ethereal voice. viva venus draws sonic parallels to icons like Róisín Murphy and Donna Summer while lyrically echoing the likes of Lykke Li and Self Esteem.

Elsewhere on the EP, “honeymoon suite” sets the tone with dreamlike melancholy and the temptation of escapism in love. “rush of love” pulses with synth-pop urgency, inspired by LALA’s own creative challenge: “What would it sound like if Confessions on a Dance Floor met Hounds of Love?”

“My music is always a love letter to a female archetype,” she shares. “With viva venus, I wanted to explore Venus — love, victory, desire — and how all of that plays out in today’s world.”
