Jay Wheeler continues to build momentum off his acclaimed album Girasoles with the official video for the viral fan favorite “Nota,” featuring Puerto Rican artist Omar Courtz. Released via Dynamic Records/EMPIRE, the video enhances the emotionally charged themes of Wheeler’s most personal work to date.
Filmed in Miami and directed by FilmHeads, the video brings the track’s storyline to life—highlighting themes of desire, freedom, and spontaneous connection. Produced by Yeziell and Botlok, “Nota” explores a no-strings-attached attraction, resonating with fans for its honesty and emotional simplicity.
“I wanted ‘Nota’ to convey that feeling of pure attraction, without complications or compromises,” says Wheeler. “It’s a song about enjoying the moment and letting yourself get carried away by the chemistry. I loved working with Omar Courtz; we achieved a unique vibe that’s reflected in our collab.”
The chemistry between both artists was palpable during a surprise live performance last weekend at Courtz’s sold-out shows at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, where Wheeler joined him on stage to debut “Nota” live.
“Nota” appears on Girasoles, which debuted at No. 4 on Apple Music’s US Latin Top Albums. The 15-track record is a three-act story of pain, growth, and healing—symbolized by Wheeler’s metaphor of planting, transformation, and blooming.
As Jay Wheeler’s artistry continues to evolve, “Nota” stands as a reflection of the simplicity of connection and the power of creative collaboration in modern Latin music.
