Emerging alt-pop star Aidan Bissett releases “ricochet,” a moody and emotionally vulnerable single via Capitol Records, showcasing his signature fusion of indie-rock edge and pop sensibility. The track finds Bissett confronting the emotional loop of a toxic relationship — one that hurts just as much as it heals.
“Lyrically, I heavily resonate with this song — with the idea of somebody ricocheting back into your life,” Bissett shares. “You’re not just on the ground getting kicked, you’re also kicking yourself.”
Produced by Andrew Wells (The Vaccines, Biig Piig) and mixed by Tony Hoffer (Phoenix, Albert Hammond Jr.), “ricochet” captures a full-band feel, featuring splashy drums, layered guitars, and a bassline built for emotional release. Bissett’s vocal delivery adds weight to every line, especially in the hook: “You got a sharp tongue that could cut like a knife… You’ve messed with my head a hundred times.”
The release follows his first 2025 single, “are we in love yet?,” another emotionally vivid track combining new wave textures with lyrical introspection. Together, the two songs build anticipation for Bissett’s upcoming debut album — a project set to elevate his already rising profile.
With over 250 million global streams and more than a billion TikTok video views, Bissett has become one of alt-pop’s most promising new names. Featured by Rolling Stone, Spotify Pop Rising, and TIDAL Magazine, he’s toured with Lauv and Valley and headlined sold-out shows across North America and Europe.
“ricochet” cements Bissett’s position as a magnetic force in modern pop — honest, self-aware, and ready for what’s next.
