Tanner Adell, one of country-pop’s boldest breakout voices, steps into a powerful new chapter with her moving new single “Going Blonde,” out now. The track marks her first release of 2025 and offers fans an emotional glimpse into the real story behind her adoption and the lasting impact of loss.

Written alone on a barstool in Nashville, “Going Blonde” traces the unraveling of Adell’s origin story. After taking a DNA test—gifted to her by her adoptive parents—she discovered not only a new family connection through her brother, but the heartbreaking truth: her birth mother had passed away, and the narrative she had believed for years wasn’t true.

“I think I’m still learning things and I’m definitely still grieving,” she shares. “But I’m ready to release it as a form of my own therapy.”

One photo of her mother—a blonde, blue-eyed woman who reminded her of Dolly Parton—became a symbol of connection. Through Parton’s music, especially her debut single “Dumb Blonde,” Adell found meaning in her own identity. “This is a way I’m going to keep her close,” she says.
