Daniel Seavey’s solo journey reaches a major milestone with the release of Second Wind, his long-awaited debut album, out now via Atlantic Records. The 12-track project, executive-produced by Michael Pollack (Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber), embraces early-aughts pop-rock influences while maintaining an intimate and introspective touch.
Seavey describes Second Wind as an album about youthful longing and personal growth. “It’s about a boy desperately clinging on to his youth while life is trying to force him to grow up,” he shares. “When I started making happier songs, I noticed my perspective shifting—I started becoming optimistic again.”
The album includes fan favorites “Gateway Drug,” “The Older You Get,” and the standout new single “Lose Me Like You Mean It.” After previewing much of the project during a massive touring year in 2024—including a viral Lollapalooza set and international dates with Benson Boone and Dean Lewis—Seavey is ready to take center stage.
Following a whirlwind six-year run with Why Don’t We, which saw him earn multiple platinum certifications and over 6 billion streams, Seavey’s solo career has taken off. His Dancing In The Dark EP in 2023 laid the foundation for this moment, with Rolling Stone praising his “impeccable production skills.”
Now fully independent after a hard-fought legal battle, Seavey embarks on the Second Wind Tour beginning March 18, with stops in Los Angeles and New York. With Second Wind, he marks a triumphant beginning to a new chapter.
