Poni, a rising artist in the dark electronic genre, has released Hellscape, a conceptual EP now available on HypnoVizion. Featuring three original tracks, the EP captures themes of despair, vengeance, and societal disillusionment through haunting melodies and midtempo bass.

Collaborators on the EP include twin sister duo Satin Puppets, who lend their vocals to the track “Leeches,” and singer-songwriter Notelle, featured on “Leave You in the Dark.” Poni herself provides vocals for “Conceptual Reality,” rounding out a trio of tracks that offer listeners an evocative journey into emotional and mythological depths.

Describing the EP’s themes, Poni explains, “Calamitous times and places that are void of hope, Hellscape tells a story of three vastly unpleasant circumstances. Vengeance and how the murdered haunts the murderer. Heartbreak and being in a toxic relationship with a narcissist, ultimately leaving them to ruin their own lives. Despair and how lost and brainwashed society is. All of which are tied together by the sinister workings of Apep, the demon of darkness and destruction (my reimagination). Is there really no hope though? That’s up for interpretation.”
