Each song on Generation Numb is marked by Peytavin’s raw lyricism and powerful vocals, complemented by a ’90s alt-rock sound. Co-created with producers such as Jeremy Hatcher, Paris Carney, Mark Nilan Jr., and Mozella, the EP balances frenetic beats with rich, confessional storytelling. The title track, “i don’t feel anything,” earned praise from John Mayer, who described Peytavin as “a cool artist” on his SiriusXM show.
The EP also features “HELP!” a high-energy anthem with bold basslines and “hang a mirror on yourself,” a track reflecting on self-involvement in relationships. With influences from ’90s coming-of-age classics like Girl, Interrupted, Peytavin’s songs, such as “happy when i’m sad” and “under it,” delve into themes of self-discovery and resilience.
